    The increasing complexity in the assembly planning of large one-of-a-kind products, e.g. ships, urges companies to use modern technologies like Virtual and Augmented Reality. The developed concept delivers a consistent methodology to utilize and integrate these technologies into the planning process. It includes adapted methods for the assembly planning and custom tools, which aid the planner in fulfilling his tasks in a virtual environment.
