Applying high pressure to enzyme catalysed reactions can increase the enzyme performance drastically. The activity and stability of an enzyme can be increased while the selectivity can be changed. A detailed kinetic study of enzymes from different enzyme classes will help to better understand enzyme class specific behavior under pressure as a new or complementary process parameter. A suitable reactor will be designed to measure enzyme kinetics and to determine the influence of pressure.
