Abstract
The twelve cylindrical shells were manufactured at the Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems of DLR in Braunschweig. The measurement of the surface in order to determine the geometric imperfections was also carried out there utilising an ATOS system from GOM. The given geometric imperfection data is provided on the twelve excel-sheets in the form of Fourier coefficients of a double Fourier series in phase shift representation. The circumferential mode is described by full waves, the axial modes by a half-wave representation. In order to be able to map imperfections in the boundary zones of the shells, the cosine approach is taken.
