This dissertation addresses the question of how companies in the German construction and manufacturing industries can leverage innovation to accelerate the transformation to a Circular Economy (CE). Through combining the results of survey-based, quantitative and interview-based, qualitative studies, the dissertation offers both theoretical and managerial implications for the transition towards circular business models. It further extends the CE and innovation literature by demonstrating the link between innovation, CE implementation, and firm performance and presenting concrete implementation-oriented insights among CE frontrunners.
