Development of new processes in enzymatic synthesis is still slow due to a yet incomplete knowledge base. Therefore, the main goal of this work is to overcome this shortcoming by the simulation tool STEP (Simulation Tool for Enzymatic Processes). With its rigorous, transient models STEP gives the possibility for an accelerated fact based process development. The article deals with the development and experimental validation of STEP in depth.
