The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx (x=1, 2) with ammonia on Fe/H-ZSM5 has been investigated by means of the Density Functional Theory (DFT) and microkinetic modeling. The reactive H/N/O system is divided into the subsystems oxidation of NO to NO2, the fast and the NO2 SCR and the oxidation of ammonia (SCO). The influence of two different active sites, Brønsted acids and mononuclear iron sites, is discussed.
