The University Library of TUHH (TUB) is member of Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund (GBV). The integrated library system LBS4 is supported by GBV VZG and therefore is used for circulation, acquisition and user catalog at TUHH. In 2012 the LBS4 catalog was replaced by TUBfind discovery based on vufind.
LBS4 has lacked functional enhancements within the last 15 years. Tools for electronic resource management are missing as well as standard interfaces like LDAP. Therefore LBS4 needs to be replaced in near future. One alternative may be KOHA, an open source software. Another one Kuali which is already tested by VZG. TUB started an Koha test in 2014, which was based on a VZG questionnaire. This report presents testing results esp. in comparison to LBS4 and open questions regarding Koha.
