Real-time simulations have become a popular way for virtual prototyping and component testing in vehicle development. A cost-effective way for such simulations are rigid body models, which can be used to simulate the vehicle behavior for a wide variety of test scenarios. However, these models neglect the elastic deformation of flexible components like the car body. This becomes increasingly important since more lightweight components are used in modern vehicles. In this work real-time simulation options for flexible multibody systems are shown for a full car model with a flexible car body.
