This thesis proposes a security architecture for a container monitoring application which aims at increasing transport quality by damage detection. Furthermore, border control authorities get the possibility to better control the import of containers. A secure tunnel protocol between the sensor nodes in the container and an internet remote station is developed that protects confidentiality and integrity of sensor data in an energy efficient way. Another key building block of the architecture is a delegable access control mechanism, which ensures that only correct parties can access the database, which keeps records of the container transport.
