Spatial-harmonic magnetrons with cold secondary-emission cathode are efficient high-power millimeter-wavelength oscillators. Recent advances in the development of such low-voltage magnetrons, 210 GHz tubes, and magnetrons with an extended lifetime are reviewed. Potentials for further improving the performance of spatial-harmonic magnetrons are considered as well.
