Renewable energy sources for transport can be provided by a variety of processes. A wide range of bio-based processing routes, hybrid technologies and co-refining processes are currently under discussion. A selection of process descriptions of current and future production technologies, with reference to exemplary initiatives and research and development needs, is provided in the Technologies chapter of the report.
