The three components of the mean velocity vector and all six components of the Reynoldstensor have been measured using the Laser-Doppler- Velocimeter technique. Measurements have been carried out in the wake of a ship-double-model in a wind tunnel.
All of the first partial spatial derivatives of experimental results have been calculated. In order to increase the accuracy of the components of the Reynoldstensor an errorcorrection has been introduced, considering the influence of nonorthogonal measuring directions of the three-component velocimeter.
Distributions of the mean velocity, the intensity of turbulence respectively the kinetic energy of turbulence have been presented as weIl as results of the Reynoldsforces and of the Lambvector.
Some assumptions of turbulence modeling important in computational fluid dynamics have been investigated by substituting experimental results directly into postulated relationships between mean velocity and turbulent velocity fluctuations.
The eddy-viscosity has been calculated basing on experimental data and the results thereof have been compared with theoretical predictions.
