The basic idea of load flexibility is to adapt the load to the available capacity. This paper examines the effect of load leveling on the work in process at a workstation. The logic used is simple, but allows significant savings of the work in process buffer and limits the resulting lateness. The goal of the paper is to derive an approximate equation for logistic operating curves with load flexibility.
