This research aims to establish a better knowledge of the bowing of match-cast segments. A transient thermo-mechanical finite element model was developed to simulate the segment production. Numerical simulations of two real segmental bridges were conducted to show the impact of using bow shaped segments on the serviceability and the load bearing capacity of structures. A simple method to estimate the size of the bowing was developed.
