Determining realistic delivery dates is difficult for make-to-order manufacturers, especially when customers demand both long and short delivery times (rush orders). In this article, we show a procedure for determining delivery dates for rush orders by extending an approach developed for standard orders. Our procedure only uses early available order information and visualizes it in a throughput diagram. A simulative evaluation proves its effectiveness by achieving both short delivery times and a high delivery compliance.
