During aircraft MRO, structural components are inspected for surface defects, removing any defects locally. The position and extent of the repair areas will largely determine the reuse of the component. In this process, the condition is manually assessed based on expert knowledge. This paper presents a data-driven evaluation approach for assessing the repair work, enabling a well-founded as well as objective condition assessment on the basis of historical repairs.
