An eco-sustainable way to travel faster than the speed of sound

The aviation industry has transformed dramatically over the past century, forever changing how we live and work by bringing people closer and connecting the world. While travelling thousands of miles in just a few hours is easier than ever before, travelling faster than the speed of sound is also in the air. The EU-funded MOREandLESS project will review the environmental impact of supersonic aviation. It will apply a multidisciplinary holistic framework to help check how enabling technologies of supersonic aircraft, trajectories and operations comply with environmental requirements. It will cover the entire supersonic speed regime and the most promising aircraft configurations, propulsive technologies and alternative fuels. The findings will inspire the future of environmentally sustainable supersonic aviation.
