When hydraulic flushing of the soil such as in the jet grouting process, the soil is loosened with a high pressure fluid jet. The focus of the research project is the numerical simulation of the jet grouting method based on a dynamic two-phase model for the saturated soil and the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) for the numerical solution of the field equations. For this purpose, a program called GADGET-Soil is being developed that has emerged from the free SPH code GADGET (astrophysics) and GADGET-H2O (fluid dynamics). This includes the implementation of material models for soils, and the transition from the grain structure to the suspension and vice versa.
