Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is performed under vacuum hence biological materials cannot be imaged under physiological condition. A nanofluidic chip mit extremely thin membranes as sidewalls minimizing absorption and background signals enables TEM with high resolution. This project realizes such devices for TEM of biological materials under physiological condition. It's a collaboration project with Prof. Dwayne Miller from Max Planck Institute in Hamburg.
