Abstract (english): Many companies use rush orders in production to meet the heterogeneous delivery times customers demand. Rush orders receive high priority in production and thereby achieve short throughput times. In the context of sequence-dependent setup times, the throughput time of rush orders can be much higher as they have to wait on their respective setup family. This paper presents two different strategies for accelerating rush orders at workstations with sequence-dependent setup times and shows their influence on the throughput time.
