An active 30 GHz transmit antenna array featuring digital beam forming and polarization multiplexing is presented. A fully equipped scalable module with 16 antenna elements is realized and tested. The active components and additional functional elements such as a temperature monitoring system are characterized. The radiation pattern is thoroughly assessed. The impact of mutual coupling is analyzed and a decoupled radiation pattern is presented.
