Abstract
The CATS is a standardized instrument in form of a concept inventory to measure student conceptual understanding of statics. It was developed by Paul Steif and is the focus of investigation as well as the applied measurement tool in the dissertation "Assessing the Effectiveness of Research-Based Active Learning Materials for Introductory Engineering Mechanics" by Julie Direnga.
