Item type:Publication, Access status: without files , Low-Power Smart Selective LTE Jammer for Search and Rescue Applications using Software-Defined Radio(2023-04); ; ; ; Mobile phone localization of buried victims in quick response search-and-rescue (SAR) operations require control over the radio network. To gain control via emergency fallback procedures, jamming the valid base stations in range is necessary. This publication introduces the concept and realization of a LTE jamming system, that can mask specific base stations by jamming the cell-specific reference signal. The selected jamming method allows low-power operation of the jammer for portable use.Publicationtype: Conference Paper30 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Access status: without files , Low-cost Software-Defined Radio System with Deterministic RX to TX Delay Using Timestamps(2023-01); ; ; Systems that rely on high-level software share the same disadvantage. Their execution time is unknown and thus the result of the processing is not available after a deterministic delay. The same is valid for software-defined radios. When only in receive (RX) mode the impact of the varying delay is negligible most of the time. However, in the case that the SDR needs to transmit (TX) this delay prevents from synchronizing the TX to the RX. This is crucial for many applications in communication and sensing though. This publication proposes and implements a method on a low-cost SDR transceiver, that provides the possibility to TX at a given time related to the RX with an error of ±l sample.Publicationtype: Conference Paper43 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Access status: without files , UAV-based Localization of Mobile Phones for Search and Rescue ApplicationsIn this work a system is proposed that utilizes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to search and rescue trapped victims using their mobile phones. The systems consists of two parts, a ground station (GS) and an airborne station (AS). The GS provides a downlink to the UAV, a GSM base station along with antenna equipment and a mobile network jamming device. By using a smart approach to block the synchronization sequences of all base stations in range, the mobile phones of the victims to be located are switching to an emergency fallback mode. In this mode the phones connect to the strongest base station in range, thus the one provided by the GS. By initiating a call to the corresponding phone the AS can localize it using direction-of-arrival detection with a 9-channel phase coherent receiver system.Publicationtype: Conference Paper35 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Access status: without files , Signal Processing for Low-Power and Low-Cost Radar Systems in Bicycle Safety Applications(2022-01); ; ; ; In this publication a miniaturized low-power radar system is introduced that allows detection, tracking and measurement of motorized vehicles passing a bicycle rider. The main focus of this paper is to show a system that is responding with a situation adapted modulation to different measurement requirements while keeping power consumption and BOM cost to a minimum. This is achieved with using an integrated 60 GHz radar and a STM32 ultra-low-power microcontroller for the required signal processing.Publicationtype: Conference Paper66 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Access status: without files , Track-before-detect short range radar system for industrial applicationsThis paper presents a multiplexed short range frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar system and an algorithmic approach for the detection of targets. The algorithm uses a heuristic particle filter to track potential targets before they are actually detected. The detection algorithm is compared to a well-known constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detector. The whole setup is tested on real-life data in an industrial scenario.Publicationtype: Conference Paper238
