Assistance systems can increase the efficiency and quality of manual processes, but have so far found little application in the inspection of large components in aircraft production. In this dissertation, assistance systems are enabled for this application domain by developing various solution components to overcome the specific scientific challenges. These include an application for visual inspection based on Vision Foundation models and 3D defect localization, a modular, multi-modal inspection tool tracking system, and a module for in-situ projection of inspection positions. All components are evaluated in realistic use-case scenarios.
