Independent Publishing Based on the Values of Open Science

Abstract

Offene Wissenschaft ist mit vielen Werten wie Verantwortlichkeit, Integrität, Vertrauen, Reproduzierbarkeit und natürlich Offenheit verbunden. Von Beginn des Forschungsprozesses an ist das Publizieren der Schlüssel, um die Gemeinschaft und die Gesellschaft über die Ergebnisse und den kurvenreichen Weg, der zu ihnen führte, zu informieren. In diesem Zusammenhang muss der Zugang als eine notwendige Bedingung und ein weiterer zentraler Wert offener Wissenschaft genannt werden.

Open science is linked with many values such as accountability, integrity, trust, reproducibility and of course, openness. From the beginning of the research process, publishing is key to inform the community and society about the findings and the winding road that led to them. Saying this, accessibility must be mentioned as a necessary condition and another core value of open science.
