The goal of this thesis was to evaluate the potential of electric mobility to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the German transport sector. Empirical data from commercial vehicles in Hamburg (Germany) were analysed using qualitative and quantative methods. The research revealed the potential contribution of the technology, identified drivers and barriers in its implementation from which it concludes policy recommendations.
