TORE as a research information system

TORE maps the research landscape of the TU Hamburg and makes research achievements visible.

Displayed are

Dissertations, preprints and open access publications written at the TU Hamburg can be made accessible in full text in TORE. Both the publisher’s versions of open access publications and accepted author manuscripts can be published. Publications are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and can therefore be referenced.

The system increases the visibility of researchers. The possibility of publishing research data and publishing publications as open access takes into account the increased requirements of funding organisations when applying for third-party funding. In future, researchers will also be able to manage scientific activities, awards and their researcher profile. The researchers’ data will be taken from TU Hamburg’s contact database.

TORE is the central system for recording and visualising publications and research projects at TU Hamburg. Publications can be easily recorded using interfaces to publication databases. Publications can be integrated on the institute websites of the TU Hamburg and the websites of the scientists.

With TORE, the TU Hamburg fulfils the publication obligation according to the Hamburg Higher Education Act. The system is used for reporting by the university to funders and authorities and makes it easier to respond to enquiries from politicians. The operation of the research information system is regulated by a service agreement.

Services of the library

The library maintains publications that are reported by Scopus for the TU Hamburg. Authors and institutes do not need to be active here. Authors are informed about new publications in TORE by email. New projects are reported by the third-party funding department and imported into TORE by the library. Project managers and the FIS officers are informed by email.

Tasks of the institutes

  • Check and correct newly added publications and projects.
  • Adding publications that are not delivered via Scopus.

TORE als Forschungsinformationssystem

TORE bildet die Forschungslandschaft der TU Hamburg ab und macht die Forschungsleistungen sichtbar.

Dargestellt werden

An der TU Hamburg verfasste Dissertationen, Preprints und Open Access Publikationen können in TORE im Volltext zugänglich gemacht werden. Es können sowohl die Verlagsversionen von Open Access Publikationen als auch akzeptierte Autorenmanuskripte veröffentlicht werden. Publikationen erhalten einen Digital Object Identifier (DOI) und sind damit referenzierbar.

Das System erhöht die Sichtbarkeit der Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler. Mit der Möglichkeit, Forschungsdaten zu veröffentlichen und Publikationen als Open Access zu veröffentlichen, wird den gestiegenen Anforderungen der Förderorganisationen bei der Beantragung von Drittmitteln Rechnung getragen. Zukünftig werden die Forschenden auch wissenschaftliche Aktivitäten, Auszeichnungen sowie ihr Forschenden-Profil pflegen können. Die Daten der Wissenschaftler:innen werden aus der Kontaktdatenbank der TU Hamburg übernommen.

TORE ist das zentrale System zur Erfassung und Darstellung der Publikationen und der Forschungsprojekte der TU Hamburg. Mit Schnittstellen zu Publikationsdatenbanken können Publikationen einfach erfasst werden. Publikationen können auf den Institutswebseiten der TU Hamburg und den Webseiten der Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler eingebunden werden.

Die TU Hamburg kommt mit TORE der Veröffentlichungspflicht nach dem Hamburgischen Hochschulgesetz nach. Das System dient dem Reporting der Hochschule an Geldgeber, Behörden und erleichtert die Beantwortung von Anfragen aus Politik.

Leistungen der Bibliothek

Die Bibliothek pflegt Publikationen ein, die von Scopus für die TU Hamburg gemeldet werden. Hier brauchen die Autor:innen und die Institute nicht aktiv zu werden. Über neue Publikationen in TORE werden Autor:innen per E-Mail informiert. Neue Projekte werden aus der Drittmittelabteilung gemeldet und von der Bibliothek in TORE importiert. Projektleiter:innen und die FIS-Beauftragten werden darüber per E-Mail informiert.

Aufgaben der Institute

  • Prüfung der neu aufgenommenen Publikationen und Projekte.
  • Einstellen von Publikationen, die nicht über Scopus geliefert werden.
