    Diode power detector DC operating point in six-port communications receivers
    In this paper a diode power detector circuit is investigated for application in a six-port communications receiver. The diode behavior is modeled by the fundamental diode equation, which is solved for the output DC operating point applying an expansion theorem of modified Bessel functions for the exponential function. The results are compared with a Harmonic Balance system simulation and the closely matching results show that the assumptions made to find the numerical solution hold true. © 2007 EuMA.

    Design and manufacturing reliability of passive components for LTCC millimeterwave hybrid circuits
    (IEEE, 2007-12) ;
    The design reliability of LTCC circuits up to millimeter wave frequencies and the tolerances associated with the manufacturing process are studied. Representative circuit elements are analyzed, i.e. a planar bandpass filter, a buried DC-block filter and a vertical DC-feed network, which take advantage of fine line printing and high permittivity layer inclusions. In order to distinguish between manufacturing tolerances and variations occurring during the measurement, a reference sample method is introduced. All samples show good to excellent agreement with simulations as well as very little manufacturing variations up to 40 GHz. © 2007 EuMA.

    High isolation substrate integrated coaxial feed for Ka-band antenna arrays
    (IEEE, 2007-12) ; ;
    A substrate integrated coaxial waveguide used as a patch antenna feed is presented. The waveguide is formed by means of conventional PCB multilayer fabrication techniques. Focus of this paper is on the analysis, optimisation and experimental characterisation of the integrated waveguide and its associated multilayer structure for mode-free operation up to 40 GHz. Measurement results of the integrated waveguide used as a transmission line and as a patch antenna feed at 30 GHz are presented. © 2007 EuMA.
