Item type:Publication, Access status: without files , K-band LTCC star mixer with broadband IF output networkThis paper presents a hybrid star mixer in a surface mount package. The frequency of operation ranges from 14 GHz to 27 GHz with an achieved conversion loss of as low as 8dB. The device is optimized for local oscillator drive levels of down to 7.5 dBm. A focus is set on the design of the passive structures, especially the balance of the Marchand balun. An IF output network with an inherently low series inductance is introduced, offering larger IF handwidths compared to known solutions. The mixer was fabricated as a surface mount device in LTCC technology. Measurements confirm the design methodology and show good agreement with the simulation results.Publicationtype: Conference Paper50 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Access status: without files , A six-port receiver's analog front-end of reduced size based on a multi-layer layout(2007-06); ; In this paper a compact front-end of a six-port receiver is presented based on a multi-layer circuit topology. For higher frequencies the six-port receiver architecture offers a good alternative to common receiver concepts. One drawback is the occupied size of the microwave couplers used in the analog front-end depending normally directly on the wave length and is opposed to an implementation of the passive six-port structure on a MMIC, With the results of the investigations presented in this paper a reduction in size of the six-port's transmission line structure of about 79 % is achievable. The performance of the proposed multi-layer structure is compared to the common planar topology and shows only slight degradation.Publicationtype: Conference Paper98
