    Rapid and highly detailed productivity analyses for assembly processes using motion capture systems
    The major part of industrial assembly processes is carried out manually. Therefore, it is very important to design the workplace and the assembly processes ergonomically and productively in order to protect the workers and to ensure high labour productivity. However, many methods of analysing ergonomics and productivity require a high level of manual effort, as they are very complex and need a large amount of data to be captured. This article focuses on analysing productivity in assembly processes and presents a concept for capturing the data for productivity analyses with a motion capture system and evaluating the results with a digital assistance system. This allows the productivity of a work system to be analysed rapidly and with little effort so that workstation and process design can be improved.

    Ableitung von MTM-Analysen aus Motion-Capturing-Daten
    (GITO mbH Verlag für Industrielle Informationstechnik und Organisation, 2025) ; ; ; ;
    Seit etwa 15 Jahren steigt die Arbeitsproduktivität je Arbeitsstunde mit deutlich weniger als einem Prozent pro Jahr. Gleichzeitig können detailliertere Produktivitätsanalysen in den Unternehmen hohe Potenziale ausweisen. Allerdings sind die hierfür geeigneten MTM-Analysen aufwendig und werden aktuell nicht in der erforderlichen Breite und Häufigkeit eingesetzt. Eine Lösung ist der Einsatz digitaler Technologien wie Motion Capturing. Diese ermöglichen es, Produktivitätsanalysen mit geringem Aufwand durchzuführen, da sie Daten bereitstellen, die die Analyse beschleunigen. Das Tool MTMmotion® der MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. (MTMA) wurde mit dem Ziel entwickelt, mit den bereitgestellten Daten unterschiedlicher Technologien valide und regelkonforme MTM-Analysen durchführen zu können. Dieser Beitrag vergleicht die für ein Motion-Capture-System und MTMmotion® entwickelte Methode mit einer konventionellen MTM-1®-Analyse. Wesentliches Ergebnis ist, dass mit digitalen Technologien bereits in frühen Planungsphasen aufwandsarm valide MTM-Analysen erstellt werden können. Dadurch ist es möglich, frühzeitig Anpassungen in der Arbeitsplatz- und Prozessgestaltung vorzunehmen und somit Herstellungskosten zu reduzieren.

    Analyse von Arbeitsabläufen mit 3D-Kameras
    Productivity analyses are important tools to control labour costs in industrial companies. This work presents a consistent method for determining times and analysing productivity. To achieve this goal, the method accesses motion tracking data acquired by 3D cameras. The method derives worker states and determines relevant state data. By systematically analysing this data, it is capable to provide meaningful results.

    An integrative model of productivity and logistic objectives
    Labor productivity as well as its influencing factors are closely linked to the logistic objectives. This linkage has been so far only described on a qualitative basis. Consequently a coordinated configuration of production planning and control and productivity management is missing. This paper presents an approach to link labor productivity and production planning and control on a quantitative level.

    Analysis of manual work with 3D cameras
    This paper presents a low-cost and low-effort approach to analyze labor productivity with 3D cameras. The developed methodology tracks the movement of employees in assembly operations. The collected data is then analyzed with a methodology that is based on the primary-secondary analysis.
