Item type:Publication, Access status: with files , Optimal robust distributed control towards attosecond synchronization systemsSynchronization systems in free-electron laser facilities enable frontier experiments on (sub)molecular matter. This work comprises a control theoretic analysis of such systems, explicitly taking into account their inherent nature as distributed time-delay systems. Robust stability and performance guarantees against uncertain parameters are incorporated, adding to the complexity of optimal controller design for such systems. Practical time and frequency domain synthesis methods are presented for this generally intractable problem and developed further. In a case study, the methods are evaluated on a real laser-based synchronization system at European XFEL, demonstrating attosecond performance.Publicationtype: Doctoral Thesis59 72 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Access status: with files , Modellbasierte prädiktive Regelung komplexer gebäudetechnischer Anlagen zur Optimierung der Energieeffizienz und des Komforts(2023); The building sector is responsible for about a quarter of the CO₂ emissions in Germany, and a transformation towards an energy-efficient building stock is an essential keystone for climate protection. In this thesis, a model predictive control strategy is developed and implemented in an office building with the aim of optimizing the energy efficiency and thermal comfort of the building. The metrological evaluation of the control strategy shows that 10 to 30 % heating energy savings can be realized compared to the conventional control strategy, while thermal comfort can be improved at the same time.Publicationtype: Doctoral Thesis254 2128
